Highschool extreme lag?

So I recently bought the highschool game pack and LOVED IT. But my game is maxis match ONLY. so i don't use mods at all! I have been experiencing EXTREME lag in my game! I even uninstalled it & re installed it and I have no reason or rhyme to why. When it lags its like the game freezes for maybe 2-5 seconds then its fine but itll do that every 5 minutes if not more. Does anyone else have this issue? I know it can't just be me my mother also has the same issues since she uses my account to play. It doesn't matter if i play offline or online it doesn't help.

    @w8mxiseke5gg  Look, the driver you have installed is NOT the one listed on the Dell download page.  You can compare the driver versions yourself if you don't believe me.  And your dxdiags both list a number of errors of the graphics driver.  Look up LiveKernelEvent 193 if you're curious.

    Yes, many players have seen increased lag after installing HSY.  However, for quite a few of them, the issue has been fixed with one simple intervention or another.  In fact, there are a few examples where the graphics driver was the issue, although most of those had older Nvidia or Intel GPUs and drivers.

    If you're not interested in troubleshooting further, that's fine.  But it's clear that the currently-installed driver has a problem that needs to be addressed, and that problem could also account for extreme in-game lag all by itself.

    @w8mxiseke5gg  Your dxdiag shows a number of errors of the graphics driver.  While it's not immediately clear that these errors are related to Sims 4, it's a good idea to reinstall the driver regardless.  Since you already have the newest driver available from Dell, you'll need to clean-uninstall it before downloading a fresh copy.  Here's how:

    You're specifically looking for the AMD Radeon Graphics Driver dated August 9.  Once you've installed it, restart your computer and try to play.  If you still get lag, please test a new save in one of the base game worlds, just for comparison, and don't edit any buildings or lots.  Since this is just a test, you don't need to spend much time setting it up.  If you see lag even in the new save, please post a new dxdiag, one from after you reinstalled the graphics driver.

    As for your mother's game issues, I can't begin to guess what's going on there without more information.  You're welcome to post a dxdiag from her computer too if you'd like.

    I uninstalled it & did a fresh re install and still has lag its not my computer thats the issue and now i know that for a fact. Something has happened since they released the highschool pack because i didn't have issues this bad until i got the pack and downloaded it.

    @w8mxiseke5gg  Your new dxdiag shows the same graphics driver as before, not the newer one from Dell.  This can happen if you don't take your computer offline while uninstalling the current driver: Windows may helpfully install the driver it thinks is most suitable rather than the one you intend to use.  And your new dxdiag also shows more errors related to the graphics driver.

    If your mother does in fact have exactly the same laptop as you, and she similarly has this slightly older driver, it's possible that the problem is a bug in the driver itself, or at least an incompatibility with Sims 4.  That would explain why you're both seeing the same issue.

    @puzzlezaddict I did step by step including MAKING SURE I was offline. So i didn't do it incorrectly. As i stated its not our laptops because ive found out about an entire group having the same issues and they don't have the laptop i have. Nevermind but thanks anyway.
