Horse ranch blank text boxes on Steam not fixed
hi, I bought horse ranch through Steam as a pre-order and like everyone else had a problem with blank text boxes when I tried to play the expansion yesterday. I saw the thread saying the issue had been fixed. I have now updated the pack twice through Steam via properties/DLC checking and unchecking the box. It updated and then verified, and the Strings_ENG_US is now in the EP14 folder, but when I try to play, the text boxes are still blank. I don't have any mods. Any suggestions?
- @EA_Solaire Good news, I think it is fixed - I went back into the EP14 file and noticed that in the Steamapps/common/Sims4 folder there is a series of EP/GP/SP files, but also a folder called Delta containing a duplicate set of EP/GP/SP files (why there are duplicate versions of all of the packs and kits, I don't know). The Delta folder's version of EP14 did not contain the Strings package, whereas the other one did. So I copied the package across to the Delta folder's version and restarted the game, and it worked. The update earlier today and the reinstall had updated one version of the file but not the other. It's still a mystery as to why there are two versions of all of it, but anyway, we got there in the end. 🙂
