@megan_xoxox I take it you moved the Sims 4 user data folder (the one normally in Documents\Electronic Arts) to your USB drive? If so, that's why your save is missing: the game won't read the folder while it's on the USB. Sims 4 will always look for its user data folder in Documents\Electronic Arts, and if it doesn't find one, it will create a new one.
To get your save back, go into the Saves folder inside the Sims 4 folder on your USB, highlight all the files inside, right-click and select Copy; then go into Documents\Electroinc Arts\The Sims 4\saves, right-click in the blank space, and select Paste. (It's better to copy and paste, rather than drag and drop, so you have backup copies of your saves in case you need them later.) Load the game and see whether your saves show up again.
I just tried this, it won’t let me paste them back into the original folder because there’s already files in there with the same names, if I paste them it just replaces all of the old files so I can’t have backups I just get put back to square one again ☹️
