How can you have EA extensions on steam or vice versa

I have already played Sims 4 or installed expansions. A few days ago I bought expansions again on Steam. I also linked the two accounts together, but unfortunately it doesn't work. I installed Sims 4 on Steam and I didn't have the expansions that I already bought from EA and if I uninstall it (in Steam) I can download it (via EA). Then I just have an insterlation error. How can I solve my problem?

    @a84mlmsjxzxp  It's simple:

    • Uninstall Sims 4 through the EA App.
    • Install the Sims 4 base game through Steam, and also install every pack in your Steam library.
    • Open the EA App, click Sims 4, select Manage > Manage add-ons, and download the packs you own through EA.

This should not delete your saves or any other user data.  But if you want to be extra careful, you can make a backup copy of your saves, inside Documents > Electronic Arts > The Sims 4 > saves.  Or you can make a backup of this entire Sims 4 folder.

If you would prefer help in German, just ask.  This site has a German-language forum, and I can move your posts there, or you can start a new thread there and link this one so that the helpers see the information you've provided already.

  • @a84mlmsjxzxp  The only way to run Steam- and EA App-owned content together is through Steam.  You'd install the base game through Steam, plus any packs you own there, then use the EA App to install the rest of your packs, but NOT a second copy of the base game.  Please let me know whether this works for you, and if not, what happens when you try.

    1. Tut mir leid, mein Englisch ist nicht so gut.

    Was kann ich machen?

Sollte ich Sims 4 auf EA deinstallieren?

Und habe ich noch meine Ergebnisse?

@puzzlezaddict Thank you for your efforts. But it didn't work again. I didn't have a second game, but the expansions were just the ones I bought on Steam.

@a84mlmsjxzxp  What happens when you try to install the packs you own through the EA App?  If you get an error, please post a screenshot.  it's fine if the screenshot is in German.

If the packs install through the EA App, but they don't appear in-game, please run searches for two or three of your missing packs.  Open a File Explorer window, click This PC in the left panel, and enter the folder name for one of the missing packs in the search field in the upper-right corner.  This is the full list of packs:

    https://sims4.crinrict.com/eng/extras-2/available-packs-dlc/

For example, if you're looking for Seasons, you'd search for EP05 .  Wait for the search to finish, then make sure the full file path is showing under each result.  If it's not, expand the window sideways as necessary.  Take a screenshot using Windows key-shift-S and attach it to a reply here.  Then repeat for one or two more packs.

When I did this I no longer had my expansions that I bought on Ea. I then deleted it and did it again as you said and yet sims 4 wouldn't uninstall on ea. I got it a little later (unfortunately I wasn't at home, which is why the answer took so long) Then I did something and it worked. But now I no longer have my score. I also tried to restore it but unfortunately no chance. (the strange thing is when I tried it before and it didn't work, I had my save) But I don't think it's that bad since I have everything in my packs now. My only problem is that I can't find the mods folder and have no idea where it might be. Does anyone know where he is? Can I even install mods via Steam?

Ps I am very grateful to you

    Thank you

@a84mlmsjxzxp  My last suggestion wasn't supposed to be a fix, it was about gathering information so I could figure out why your EA App-owned packs weren't loading in-game.  If you need more help with that, please post the screenshots I asked for.  If it's fixed, never mind.

You may be looking in the wrong place for your Mods folder.  Here's how to find the correct location:

If you still can't find your saves, please see the first post of this thread:
