@lisulotus First, make a backup copy of all your Sims 4 user data, as in, the Sims 4 folder inside Documents > Electronic Arts. Ideally, you'd store it on an external drive or USB stick, but if you don't have one on hand, you can place the folder elsewhere on your computer. The Downloads folder doesn't get synced, so that's one decent option.
Next, unlink OneDrive or stop it from syncing the contents of Documents, whichever you prefer.
You may first need to stop syncing overall or cancel the current sync:
The next step is to find the default location of Documents on your computer. In the search bar in the lower-left corner of your screen, search for Command Prompt, open it, and enter this command:
reg query "HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\Shell Folders" /v "Personal"
If the output is C:\Users\your username\Documents, that's great. Start the game once and make sure it's using the same file path:

Then you can copy your backup Sims 4 folder to the appropriate location. To make sure you're looking at the correct user folder, open a File Explorer window, click This PC in the left panel, double-click the C drive, and open Users > your username > Documents etc.
If the Command Prompt command outputs any file path that is NOT the one I listed, please copy that file path and paste it here. Please also go in-game and find the path to the user folder, as in the link above, and list it for me as well.
Hi! I have yet to test this because I've been busy but I did manage to check the location of my documents folder, it seems like the location is attached to onedrive and i have no idea how that ended up happening or how to change that. it says this for the location- 'C:\Users\My Username\OneDrive\Documents

What solution did you figure out? I'm having the same problem. I ran the query suggested above & got the same thing: C:\Users\Owner\OneDrive\Documents. I really need it to stop doing that.

@Onkhiara Here you go:
If OneDrive is already disabled, skip to the part below the Command Prompt command you already ran.
