How to send child to school?

I didn't see a bus pull up for my child... Tried to have it "Travel to..." but there is no school venue? really confused? Also confused on where the stores are, or are those not a thing anymore?

    The solution ended up being in the upper left corner of the "school" tab, clicking the circle inside of the icon (it turned out to be the "go to school" button).

Apparently, any sort of rabbit hole (Schools, shops, jobs) Are gone. Your childs should walk out to the street and fade out by themselves. If you cancelled the "Go to School" action or it didn't show up, then open the Job panel and there should be a "Go to school" button or something like that. I haven't actually played the game since Origin is refusing to download it faster, but I have played past Sims games so thats how it should work.
