How to Toggle Care For Self Mode???

So I recently moved in with my girlfriend Sim to her household with herself and 2 other people. I'd like to just control my Sim and my Sim's girlfriend, which WAS perfect at first, because the other two sims were in "Care for self" mode. However, I foolishly turned the mode off while trying to better understand what it actually did. Now, I desperately want to turn it back on so that I can just control my primary Sims. Is there a way to do this? If so, please let me know. Thanks so much for the help!

    You should be able to set that in your game options.

    Press on the three dots in the upper right corner, go to gameplay and check and turn on Autonomy

    Hey iv done the same and it still seems that my kids wont go to school or my otyer sim wont go to work unless i i make them why is that? when self care is active
