I have a new laptop and sims won't work on it
I brought a new laptop and downloaded origin and sims 4 but it keeps freezing my computer and won't open. I have tried to uninstall both origin and sims 4 and sim city works on it but sims will not work for some reason.
@wrxchelle Try disconnecting your DisplayLink USB device and restart your computer. Sometimes devices like this don't work well with Sims 4.
If that doesn't help, please look for new errors in the Reliability Monitor. Hit Windows key-R and enter "perfmon /rel" without quotes, and you'll see a chart of errors and updates, with a column for each day. (Today is on the right.)
For any errors that happen after you unplug the DisplayLink device, double-click on the name of the error, copy the provided info, and either paste it into a reply here (if you only find one or two) or into a text document (if there are more); you can attach the file to a post.
If Sims 4 is still crashing, I do need to know what antivirus you use as well—if that's the issue, no amount of troubleshooting other aspects will make a difference.
