@SmartnLovely You can change the destination folder in Origin. Check to see if this folder exists. Also some adware blockers and antivirus block the ports Origin uses. Origin needs to be allowed through third party adware blockers and antivirus or Origin may error on download.
Who are "they" are telling you what?
Did you check the Origin preferences and see if the destination folder actually exists?
Are you using adware blocker and/or third party antivirus? Some ad blockers interfere with the download. Some antivirus interfere with the download
Is the firewall configured for Origin?
If Origin is the problem it has to be an issue in the preferences - check Origin application settings - installs and saves - check to see if the folders exist and your user can access them.
When you start Origin with run as administrator should help user access issues.
When Origin tries to download to your computer it sends a message asking if the destination folder exists and asks if a download to that folder can be done. It sounds like the communication is sending a user access violation or the folder doesn't exist. The most probable reason (but not the only reason) is the destination location has been changed to a non existent location. this location can be changed in Origin installs and saves options. Make sure this directory (folder) exists.
