to force the game to not use oneDrive, you'll need to turn off oneDrive: https://support.office.com/en-us/article/turn-off-disable-or-uninstall-onedrive-f32a17ce-3336-40fe-9c38-6efb09f944b0
After that, the game should use the local one.

Okay so I've gotten the game to see the folder in my documents as the one to access from the page you sent me, but it still won't load my save files. Plus I'm still seeing the 'unrecognised video card' pop-up when i start the game ☹️(

Did you move all your files from oneDrive to the local folder ? Do you see the files in the folder ?

Yeah I did, all of the Electronic Arts folders are in the local folder. I can see the files for my old save games in the 'saves' folder, but when I load the game up they simply aren't there
