I reinstalled the sims, chose Norwegian but it shows in English

i redownloaded the sims 4 with the new ea app. They asked which language and I chose Norwegian. When I finally after 8 hours started the game its in English. I cant find a way to change it. In the EA...

When did this happen? (dd.mm.yy hh:mm) Since the Beta.
Summarize your bug Users can't change the language in The Sims 4 to norwegian. This is very frustrating and I hope someone can take this up with someone who can resolve these issues with the new app. Yes... You can select Norwegian as the language for The Sims 4. But if you select Norwegian as the game language, the game will be instaled with english language.
How often does the bug occur? Every time (100%)
Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? Install The Sims 4 in Norwegian.
What happens when the bug occurs? The language is in English, instead of Norwegian.
What do you expect to see? Norwegian language in the game!

Hello. I am now trying to contact EA about this issue again for the 3rd time!

The problem is installing The Sims 4 in Norwegian:
Users can't change the language in The Sims 4 to norwegian. This is very frustrating and I hope someone can take this up with someone who can resolve these issues with the new app.

Yes... You can select Norwegian as the language for The Sims 4. But if you select Norwegian as the game language, the game will be instaled with english language.


I have been told by 2 different people from EA, that they escalated it to the teams.

4 months have passed and EA have not done anything about this problem. Is it really that hard to fix this bug, or does EA not care about norwegian customers?

      Hi, I am experiencing the same issues as my other fellow Norwegians on this board. I downloaded the EA-app yesterday, re-installed the game with Norwegian language, but the game shows up in English. I am trying to contact you to report this issue, but whenever I try to "start a new case", the web-browser just keeps on bugging. I've tried both on Firefox, Chrome and Internet Explorer with the same result. It's a bit frustrating when you have an issue like this and on top of that it's near impossible to get in contact with you. I hope you can help me resolve this as I very much would like to play this game in my own language...

        @bholth3  If the region in your browser window is not set to U.S. or U.K., try switching to one of those .  Or you could try EA Help on Twitter or Facebook instead.

        @flyflax  You'll need to uninstall Sims 4 and reinstall it in Norwegian.

    That is very frustrating. It do same in Finnish language too. Cant play SIM 4 at Finnish. Only english. PLEASE FIX THAT!

      @Vesseli19771  The only way to change the language Sims 4 is running in is to reinstall the game.  Do you have the option to reinstall in Finnish?  If not, please run the EA App error report and post the report ID, as described here:

      Please also post a screenshot of the language options you see, if any, when reinstalling the game.

      Uninstalling Sims 4 shouldn't remove any of your saves or other user content, but if you want to make sure, go into Documents > Electronic Arts and make a backup of the Sims 4 folder inside.  This folder contains all your user data, and you can restore the backup if the original is somehow deleted.

        This still dont work. 

        So tried innstalling Sims 4 in Norwegian on my daughters new PC. 

        -Installed EA Client -  the EA client does not have Norwegian as base language for the launcher, so had to choose english. 

        -when trying to innstall SIms 4 you can't choose language, you can see the option, choose Norwegian, but when you go back to start the innstall its reverted back to english again.

        -Tried as others wrote here, to innstall the Origin App to innstall it on norwegian from origin first then use EA after. 
        but the Origin launcher whont let me do anything, only blocks everything with the "you need to uppgrade to EA Launcher" so cant actually do anything in origin atm. 


        Still no fix??
