input timing error

Upon launching The Sims 4 from the EA App, I get a black screen with the following message:

The current input timing is not supported by monitor display, Please change your input timing to 1920x1080@60Hz or any other monitor listed time per the monitor specifications.

I can't get past this screen to check the settings in game, Both the monitor and graphics card/chip have had their drivers updated. And I can't get into the game via windowed mode either, Help!

    @msross  You can go into Documents > Electronic Arts > The Sims 4 and move options.ini to the desktop, allowing the game to generate a new one.  Or you can edit options.ini yourself: search for resolutionheight and set it to 1080 , then search for resolutionwidth and set it to 1920 .  You can also set resolutionrefresh to 0 (zero), although I'm not sure that's necessary.
