Insane glitching/game freezing-stops responding
hiya, since the official EA Help has ignore me for a very long time now since sending them the problem-form I'll go here.
I've been working on a Super Sim and ever since the new Main Menu update every 2 in-game seconds the game lags on Normal Speed, Fast Speed it does the same, Ultra Speed it freezes completely and the game stops responding resulting in me having force the game to end via Task Manager.
My husband (who build my gaming desktop) checked everything, updated/upgraded whatever possible, ran every log-check thinkable and my computer is fully capable of running Sims 4 without lag. In the game we've played around with graphics settings, repairing the game multiple times (deleting caches etc...), tested vanilla (no mods/cc), tested with mods/cc (no difference in the hick-ups), I've taken out all saves except for my Super Sim save (no difference). I've even gone as far as deleting the majority of traits my Sim has collected by now (she's maxed all skills & aspirations, currently working on all university degrees & plan to follow that with all careers; aging is turned off, only have this single Sim living in a micro-home, nothing in the inventory other than a homework book). With deleting the majority of her traits I've been able to get rid of the lag hick-ups on Normal Speed, but there's no change on the other 2 speeds (game won't even hit the Super speed it should do when the Sim is gone from the house!!!).
It seems to be linked to the Main Menu update (I've tested the theory on my laptop too: a standard Lenovo laptop with the same save, mods & cc. Without the new Main Menu update there's no lag/glitching at at, I updated the game there, went back into the save and the glitching appeared). Any ideas on what else to do to get my game back to normal? Desktop is completely over-qualified to play Sims 4 even with all the mods/cc installed (takes less than 10 seconds on each loading screen, including initial start-up and going into CAS, my laptop is normally mod/cc-free and since I've updated that one also has the damn lag-glitch).
