Invisible barrier

Product: The Sims 4
Platform:PC
Which language are you playing the game in? English
How often does the bug occur? Rarely (0% - 9%)
What is your current game version number? 1.51.77.1020
What expansions, game packs, and stuff packs do you have installed? Base game only
Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? I don't know.
What happens when the bug occurs? There is a wall in a house I've built that sims cannot move through. I've tried moving the objects in the room, I've moved the door, I've tried a new door, I've remade the room over and over, moved the wall, replaced the wall, moved the house to a new lot, tried a different sim, I even deleted all the walls and objects and the sim still will not walk past where the wall used to be. If I teleport them inside, they can move around the area freely, but still won't go past the wall line. This is the only house I've had this issue with.
What do you expect to see? Sims being able to move freely when there are no obstacles in their way
Have you installed any customization with the game, e.g. Custom Content or Mods? Not now. I've removed them.
Did this issue appear after a specific patch or change you made to your system? No

  • @Twikii Okay... I have found that there seems to be some type of glitch in the section of roof that is above the door. I found that if I delete that part of the roofing (on the left), make a copy of the section of roof on the right, and add this section to the left area and adjust it to fit properly that the sim can now use the door. Please see this in this screencast/video and let me know if you are able to reproduce this in your game. Thank you!

Hmm... so far I can't see it in the gallery. What is your ID there?

  • When I first attempted it, it wasn't working and I was about to slip into despair. But then I watched your video again and saw that you didn't adjust the roof height after placing the new roofing, so I went back and raised mine up the extra click and VOILA! Free movement. This is the weirdest glitch. Thank you so much for all your help. You've saved my house!

@Twikii I'm so pleased! Yes glitches can make us nuts sometimes! Your house is very nice and I am happy to hear it is working properly for you now. Have a lovely evening! :eahigh_file:
