Is there a way to save a household in cas freeze emergency?

My siblings and I worked on creating a family of five sims and one dog. When we started on the dog the entire game froze. The cursor changes when hovering over text bars and the sound still works. I ...

@Torininabox  If the game is frozen and clicking around does nothing, then no, there isn't any way to recover your progress.

Which Sims game are you playing?  I can move your post to the corresponding Sims section of the forums.  Then you can discuss why the game might have frozen, and how to try to prevent it in the future.
