Issue with GF pack (children promoting 'WooHoo wear')

I was asked by TS4 forums to post here (presuming it is a bug issue, and not an intentional issue)....

Again, unsure if this is the correct place to post, but- I was watching YouTuber (TheSimSupply, aka: James/ Semaj) doing a (Sims 4) Get Famous storyline ("The Adventures Of Thorne Bailey "). During his play-through (at 15:52) I saw that a child in his sim household was offered a job to work with a (sexual; "WooHoo wear" clothing line). You can hear (the YouTuber) Semaj/James read the offer: "Hello (child's name) we are searching for a celebrity to partner to promote WooHoo wear....". You can then hear the YouTuber (Semaj/James) being really uncomfortable with this "Hey, uhh, the uh sims team.. could you please not try and get companies who sell WooHoo wear to work with children who happen to be influencers.. cause, like, I dunno man that's not, like, I'm gonna say no. As a parent I'm gonna step in and say no, and stop talking to my child because that's inappropriate.".

Given the recent events with a Sims4 'game changer' (and underage kids)... I am wanting to know why there is an offer for a child to promote WooHoo wear in Get Famous. I was considering purchasing the pack, but this is concerning, and I am wondering if TS4 can fix this immediately (someone on TS4 forums had suggested that it was a bug, and not intentional- but it needs addressing asap).

Here is the video from TheSimSupply (the timestamp for the incident is at 15:52): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BVa-aNM9qNs&list=PLm7eMVoztWXdIMn6E07vP1l5VlNQ6jpAd

I have also contacted EA via their chat feature, but unsure who else to contact.

  • Hi @InfiniteVerve ,

This is indeed something that shouldn't be happening, thank you very much for bringing it to our attention.

In this case, as you reported this to us through EA Help so The Sims team should already be aware, but I'll double check that to make sure.

Which would be the best place to post bug reports in the future? You can find a specific board for that here. 😉

    Thanks again!

Thanks for the reply @EA_Mai (and thanks for double checking). How do we (simmers) know when/if this serious (or other serious issues) are fixed? Do you notify via this thread? Asking because this type of thing (and other issues in game- like random sims attacking/ fighting other sims, unprovoked) can be serious for a simmer's mental health (if, say, they were abused as a child... or are being abused)- it can seriously recall those traumatic memories (even though people, who have not had such horrific experiences, may not understand). I'd love to see (genuine/active) resolve to these type of 'bugs'. I was considering purchasing GF, but I am rather hesitant (don't even want to promote it) until this is (confirmed) fixed.

I'd love to actually see a very healthy Sim community (and other gamers community).

    Hi @InfiniteVerve,

Whenever we release an update to the game to address any issues, we also share with you patch notes that summarise all the fixes and changes introduced to the game so everyone is aware. You can find these patch notes on Answers HQ (here), forums.thesims.com (here) and thesims.com (here) short after Origin offers you a game update.

For example, these are the changes April 16th patch introduced: https://answers.ea.com/t5/Technical-Issues-PC/The-Sims-4-Patch-notes-on-PC-Mac-April-16th-2019/m-p/7799545

    Cheers,

    -Mai
