One of my sims is stuck in at work mode. I've tried traveling, leave early, travelling with another sim, waiting till the end of work day both in the home lot and elsewhere, resetting, reloading, quitting the job, using command centre to kill and resurrect, changing the sim age, going on vacation, repairing the game... Nothing worked.
Move your Mods folder to the Desktop and delete localthumbcache.package. Then after starting the game again trvel with the Sim to a public lot and travel back.
That didn't make any difference :-(
Was your Sim by chance fired if so give him a new job first.
Have you tried repairing the game from the origin menu?
I had that issue and ended up creating a new save file. Sucked because I had to start a whole new household, but I wasn't to attached to the lost save game.
