Knox won't come in house once moved in

Product: The Sims 4
Platform:PC
Which language are you playing the game in? English
How often does the bug occur? Every time (100%)
What is your current game version number? 1.63.134.1220
What expansions, game packs, and stuff packs do you have installed? All bar Spooky Stuff
Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? 1. Befriend Knox and ask to move in 2. After a shortwhile he will be unable to come into the house through any door and will have the "Invite In" interaction
What happens when the bug occurs? Knox can't enter a door
What do you expect to see? He enters the door
Have you installed any customization with the game, e.g. Custom Content or Mods? Not now. I've removed them.
Did this issue appear after a specific patch or change you made to your system? Neutral/Not Sure

Yeah this is a weird one which I assume is to do with his title that he has but he literally will not come through my door unless invited in. I've changed the door three times, rebuilt the room, evicted and moved the family back in and replaced my lot.

  • This is happening to me also except Ive never moved Knox out of the Greenburg house. When Im playing as Mary or Blossom hovering over Knox shows him as a "Neighbor" and I get the "Invite In" interaction when clicking on him even though he lives in that household and is Blossoms son. While playing as Knox he will not enter any doors. Not even to his own bedroom or the bathroom located underneath. He was giving the cant-get-there animation so I remodled the entire build and he still would not enter. Even after marking doors to lock for everyone but Knox he still would not enter. This appears to be happening in ALL my saves. In one of my save files I actually have TWO Eco-Masters. Knox, and a random homeless townie npc that was walking around Evergreen Harbor. I am a console player so Ive never played with mods/cc.

  • I have the exact same issue. I think I asked Knox to move in before my sim married him, but not 100% sure. Knox will occasionally be considered not part of my active household. He is still listed and I can still tell him to do stuff, but it is not possible to click on himself, for example to practice singing or change his clothes (when you try to click on him with him as the active sim, nothing happens) and while he enters the main part of the house (through the main door) he refuses to enter his bedroom through another door, reacts as if it is blocked or locked for him, which it isn't. One time he was actually marked as "Neighbour", other times he looked normal but still had the same issues. So far, it was possible to fix the issue by traveling somewhere and return to the home lot, but still, it's annoying.

obviously it happened after eco lifestyle but I don't think it's tied to any particular patch. Also, I didn't have that problem with any other households, so I can't really tell whether it's because of him specifically, the fact that he was an NPC, or just a general thing. But the fact that others have this same issue with him makes it likely it's him specifically.

@cinnaluna So maybe it is the same issue then.

It's best to me too the actual bug report linked above.
  • I have a similar problem. When I ask Knox to move in, it takes me to the merge households screen, I move Knox to my home (his mothers don't appear in his household) and I hit the green "done" check mark. Then nothing happens. I can't click out of the screen. I have to end the program through task manager, even though it doesn't say it's not responding. Tried it twice!
