Laptop advice - Australia

Hello,

My 2013 refurbished MacBook Air has served me well but is on its way to laptop heaven. I am looking to replace it and considering most of my laptop use is Netflix/internet browsing and The Sims I am thinking of getting a laptop that is more equipped for gameplay.

My budget is between $1500-$2000 AUD and my criteria is that it doesn't look like a gaming laptop and has the ability to work well as a laptop for when i go back to university next year.

I have been looking at the Victus Gaming Laptop 15-inch fa0076TX as its sleek looking but to me looks very capable.

Ideally i would like to be able to play the game in High or Ultra mode and run CC and *some* Mods.

Thanks in advance for your help 🙂

  • @snazzle89  The laptop you've linked is more than capable of running all current Sims 4 content on ultra settings.  It should handle any custom content you download too; the limiting factor would be how well the game can handle the cc.  The same goes for mods: the processor can easily handle the load, but you might see some lag due to the limitations of the game engine.

If you're looking for other options, the Lenovo Legion line is also high quality and doesn't scream "gaming laptop" like some other models.  I don't know what prices are like in Australia right now, but typically, the Legion is in the same price category plus or minus a small margin as the Victus.  Legions do tend to be on the heavy side though.

If you'd like me to look for other options as well, just ask.

@puzzlezaddict Thanks so much for that, I am open to other options too if you have other suggestions? I will have a look at the legion range, are there any particular models that are better than others or things to look for?
