Laptop for Sims 4
Hello,
I'm not sure if this posted properly so apologies if you see the same one but I'm looking for a laptop to do my uni work and play the sims. I was leaning towards this one:
https://www.hp.com/gb-en/shop/product.aspx?id=a2sc4ea&opt=abu&sel=ntb
because it's within my budget (under £600 w a student discount) and my sister has it and it works okay, but I'm open to suggestions 🙂
@serendipitysoph Strange, it's showing as a pre-order for me, available in 5-10 business days. But I'm in the U.S., so I might not be seeing the same info as you do.
You should get whichever laptop feels right to you. I can tell you about performance, and I can suggest that certain options are too expensive for their hardware or won't meet your expectations, but I can't tell you which system is the best because that's somewhat subjective. If you don't like a particular model, for any reason at all, cross it off the list.
So far, I haven't seen other manufacturers include the same very fast graphics chips in reasonably-priced laptops, so from a performance standpoint, Dell and HP are a cut above the other options, at least in the non-gaming laptop category. Gaming machines are an entirely different matter, but they're also mostly more expensive than £600. And you did find one good option, but as you can see, it's heavier and flashier. There's nothing wrong with that if it works for you, but it doesn't work for everyone.
I can tell you that if I were in your position, I would wait for the HP to be in stock, that is if it really will be only 5-10 business days. (I would probably try to get a real person on the line to confirm.) But that's because my priorities are performance and screen quality, and I have a computer I can use while I wait.
