Laptop Recommendations for Sims 3 and 4

Hi,  I am looking for help with laptop recommendations to play Sims 3 and Sims 4. I currently only have these two games installed on my laptop with a few expansion packs but both games are EXTREMELY...

    @swebby21  This laptop is faster, sure, but not £100 faster.  Its GPU has eight cores instead of seven, of the same kind, but due to the typical inefficiencies, it's not quite the corresponding 14% faster most of the time.  So yes, it would be better, but I'd also say it's unnecessary.

    I want to mention this laptop too, which has dropped in price since I searched.  It's about as fast as the faster MSI and a little cheaper.  I think the MSI has a better screen, but this one is certainly good enough, just not as bright as I'd like.

    If you're looking at this category, I would cross off all the other non-gaming laptops I mentioned because they really are not in the same class in terms of performance.  They're still great options in the lower price tier, but if you've decided to pay more to get better performance, they're not what you want.

Thanks, super helpful. I am very clueless with how to read the specs and understand the performance! But would agree I value performance for money paid, and also screen quality

So in terms of what I am after is this option the best currently? :

@swebby21  The iGPU in the MSI is a little faster than the one in the Lenovos, but not so much that that should overrule other considerations.  (It's less than 10% in gaming, on average, although results in individual games vary somewhat.)  In terms of performance, either iGPU should be great.  So pick the one you like based on whatever other factors matter to you, or get the MSI if they're otherwise equal or you care about performance the most.

I do want to mention that with the MSI, you might need a one-time workaround to get Sims 3 running.  It's simple and well-tested, so it's not a reason to avoid Intel processors, so it's not a big deal.  But don't panic if the game won't start; just run the Alder Lake patch described here:
