Solved

Last Exception UI and "infinite" loading screen.

Game Version: 1.70.84.1020 64 bits system.

My Saves: https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1caO_JPHYtLdGytmV7-AevqXK75_78ANQ?usp=sharing (Beware the original save file uses CC/Mods) but to try this I took them all and just left Better Exceptions and Better Build Buy Mode by TwistedMexi (Which are updated as well as the game)

Problem: I was getting a Last Exception Ui, as the title says I get a stuck loading screen while trying to travel my Sims to the Supermarket Lot (or anywhere to be honest)

I have tried to repair the game but still got the same problem since the latest patch, my computer is faster because I recently upgraded it (You can see some of the settings in the photo attatched of the DxDiag)

So, how do I repair it? I want to play again as it used to be, much more now with an upgraded system! Someone on Discord said to me about Last Uis and how can I overcome the problem but as you can see it is still there. Is my save file corrupted? ): In case you guys need more information or to make me upload other files please say it in the comments. Also, the same person who tried to help me through Discord copy/pasted me this link: https://answers.ea.com/t5/Bug-Reports/CURRENT-ISSUE-Gallery-notification-list-not-showing/m-p/8823622/highlight/false#M125578 I don't know if this is also the problem.

Thanks beforehand for your time!

  • HI @Simtasticgallery  You could have a broken save, in that case, try a different one, earlier etc. (regardless of the mods being taken out) so a different game is the best option. Unless you go through everything, to check the older game, with mods used at the time..

Apart from culling your folders one by one, or the  50/50 method, to narrow down the broken cc or mod, that is all you can do, as you'll simply need to find the broken mod/cc it and remove it.. Restarting and checking your game each time during the culling process, including deleting the localthumbcache.package in your Sims4 folder each time)

Mods and CC require maintenance to keep them in your game, if the modder has not updated it after a game patch/update it may be broken. The process of culling & removing it, to find the broken mod is the only option though, you'll find it won't be 'all of them' but a few or even just 'one'..

After every patch or game update, this is a necessary process, to add your mods back to your game, folder by folder and starting it each time to test to see if it's ok to play. (nb: you should keep them separated for ease of checking, btw)

      • I also use Sims 4 Studio for batch fixes, as it solves a lot of problems in bulk (but not all.) It's also available for Mac. And is updated frequently, with pack relevant bug fixes.

MCCommand Center also has a dedicated discord server, that helps with Last Exceptions, or check here as well.. (a simple TS4 Last Exception interpreter)

imo however, you simply need to find what is broken.

    Hope this helps.

Yes, I realized the save was sadly broken. I started a new one and ran some batch fixes on some CC objects through Sims 4 Studio and try it! Thanks for taking your time! By the way, is there a method to know iin advance when the save is broken?

Glad it worked, there's no 'advance method' that I know of, the only 'method' that's used by some, is with any patch or Sims Update, you remove all your mods/cc & add then add them back a folder at a time.. in effect, the only thing with a 'broken save', is a broken cc/mod. 👍
