Latest update broke my game.
Hi.
So yesterday I was playing TS4 and editing a house I got on the gallery; spent a couple hours rearranging it to my liking. At some point I have to go so I try to save my game and it goes "Saving..." with the thing still moving and trying to save. It goes on for several minutes so I end up closing the game through Task Manager (I'm aware at this point I may lose all progress I made and be sent back a couple hours ago on my old save, but I don't mind that much).
So when I come back on my laptop, I try to launch the game but find out apparently there's an update so I let it update, then when I launch it, I get a popup saying the sims delivery had an error with a code. I also notice my "continue playing" thing looks weird as instead of seeing my Sim I see a white silhouette. I try to continue and the game makes me pick a new lot (I still have my sims I created). So I try to click on a new lot, only to see my balance went to 0$. I cannot do anything so I think my save got corrupted, I try to check the saves, find out my save attempt was vain, but not that big of an issue. I try to make a new game BUT every time I try, the game just crashes.
I've tried "repairing" the game within the EA app, and this morning I tried uninstalling and re-installing the whole game but it didn't change a thing. Everything was fine and working before that update yesterday T.T...
I also looked for people with the same issue, and took a look in the Windows Defender thingy and all of EA is enabled..
Does anyone have a solution ? It's currently the only game I want to play and I'm so frustrated as I got hyped to play it again a couple days ago.. ☹️
@FrozenValkyrie Please test with no mods or custom content, if you haven't alreaady, as in, move the Mods folder to the desktop.
If that doesn't help, please move the entire Sims 4 folder to the desktop and try again. You'll need to start the game in offline mode the first time to disable SDX updates again since all your in-game settings will reset when you move this folder. Your saves will also not be available, but they'll be intact in the folder you've moved and can be restored later.
