message that game cannot load...newer version????

i am getting the message: the save game you are attempting to load was saved with a newer version of the sims4 than is currently installed. please update in order to safely load this game. i have ...

If the modified date looks roughly the same as the rest then it's likely game save corruption.

ok ill give this a try. I did notice that the saved games are just called slots instead of the name of the family. unless it has always been that way.

  unfortunately none of the games are playable. I did contact ea and they are working on an update for this issue. so I have the option of either waiting for the update to restore my saved game or start over.
  
  in the future I will start saving with save as just like in sims 3.

    Did you also try the backups by removing the ver0 to ver4 ?
    
    Did you remove the slot0000001.save completely ? It will recreate for each save game and you should remove it each time you test the next save.
