Modifyrelationship Cheat Not Working

Hello,

I will try my best to explain what is going on. I did search the forums for this problem and found none. I am not using any mods.

I decided to start a new family based on some real life-family (Cheesy, I know) and when I tried to do modifyrelationship for friendship_main, the sim on my lot doesn't get the friendship modifier. What happens is another portrait of that character pops up in the friends panel with the new relationship modifier. The main and original one remains unchanged.

I've attached a screenshot to show what I mean. It's a little...irritating. It might not matter for most people who don't really use the modifyrelationship cheat, but for the people who do use it they would probably be a tad irritated.

The only expansion I don't have is CL, and a few other misc stuff packs. My operating system is Windows 10 64-bit

If someone has a suggestion, I'm all ears.

    I'm teasing. I hope it's not just me. I don't quite feel confident playing the game when it's doing this. I hope you find out what it is because I would like to play my family. 🙂

    It's working as expected for me. No new Sim added

    Can you try a new game for testing purposes to see if you have the same issue there ?

    Well, that appears to have worked. That was bizarre. I wonder what happened to cause that? Thank you for the suggestion.

    Was it a one time thing ? What happens if you try again in your existing save ? With a different Sim ?

    Hi there,

    I'm not playing this family anymore, but this exact same thing happened to me as well. I used the modifyrelationship cheat, (because I have quite a lot of sims in my neighbourhood and I just wanted to fix up the relationships of this household quickly), and instead of working as it has done in the past, it created a new sim with the exact same name and then changed the relationship with that sim to the amount I set in the cheat, if that makes sense. It sounds like the same thing lamia00 experienced.

    I'm not that experienced with the Sims 4, so I honestly have no idea what could cause this. I'm not using any mods and don't have any expansions at all at present.

    Anyway, I've moved on with my game for now, but I just wanted to let you know that I've experienced this too. All the best!

    thank you for your report.

    Did you try if it's reproducible ? If it was a one time occurrence for you or happens every time ? 


    Was the Sim just named the same or it a clone of yours ?
