Mouse cursor not working properly

There seem to be several issues with mouse cursors around.

Check your settings if you have MouseTrails on and if you do, turn them off. As an alternative, change to windowed or full windowed mode

Also try the suggestions in this thread: http://answers.ea.com/t5/The-Sims-4-Bug-Reports/Cursor-stops-working-in-CAS/td-p/3456491/

  • Thanks guys,

the issue with mouse pointer not showing up seems to be an issue of activated trailing on mouse cursers in conjunction of fullscreen mode. Try turning off either and it should work.

As for the issue where the mouse suddenly stoppes working, try if reinstalling your mouse drivers does anything for you.

    Thank you so much!
  • I'm on a macbook and when using a mouse and my trackpad in create a sim the cursor glitches out and even when my cursor isn't on the sim's body it shows up like it's on the body. it's hard to explain, but basically it's not letting me click off the body to rotate the sim or anything like that, it just adjusts the features when i try to rotate the sim. I've never had this problem before and I tried restarting my game and my laptop, but nothing has worked yet.

I use Windows 10. My issue is that when I boot up the game, it doesn't change from my PC's default cursor to the Sims 4 cursor. It just stays at the hourglass icon for Windows. The mouse functions normally, I can rotate sims and click things, it's just an eyesore and I feel like something just isn't right. When I put mods back in my game I can't even access CAS properly, it's just a randomized sim with the CAS background. I can rotate the sim, but I can't click anything, I have to force minimize and close it with task manager. The mouse cursor is still the same default Windows cursor whether I use mods or not. I know it's a problem with the mod, but I feel like getting this cursor issue fixed will help me find the mod problem.

Any eta on a fix. This has bern a known issue for 2 years; given the thread dates.
  • I never had this problem in the past but I just downloaded Seasons and now I'm having mouse pointer issues in CAS, build and live modes. I seem to be unable to select options that appear in the lower part of the screen. If I can scroll the item up then I can select it, but I'm unable to select options from the bottom of a menu. This seems to be mostly affecting choosing colors for items in CAS and selecting options for inventory items. I also had some problems using the mouse to navigate the terrain in build mode. I checked to make sure mouse trails is turned off (it is). I restarted my computer but the problem persists.. any other suggestions? I'm using a PC with Windows 10.

  • THANK YOU SO MUCH U HELPED ME WITH THE QUALITY AND THE CURSOR FROM ACTING UP TY TY TYYY!!!!
