Move your Mods folder to the Desktop and delete localthumbcache.package. Then test the game.
If it works now check for updates to your Mods and CC. Add it back a little at a time while testing until you have found all that are broken.

I had this with no Mods or CC ever installed. I noticed it mostly in Mt Komorebi when hiking, but it eventually spread to all areas. Crashes occured about every 5 minutes.
What Worked for Me:
In Origin game library I right clicked the Sims 4 and selected repair. It took a long time to redownload all game expansions etc but my saved data was fine. I did have some older errors remain, but it seems to have stopped crashing. I didn't see this solution on any post and I looked for hours.
