My Game keeps repairing itself

Every time origin opens up the sims 4 starts to repair. It happens every single time. I have no idea as to why. Has anyone else have this problem?

@puzzlezaddict Oh, I'm sorry. Good news though! I can play again. Your tip of using EA Beta instead defintely worked. I didn't need to re-download anything and the game works just like before. Thank you so much for your help 🙂

  • @eemiliak I can't move the game either, weird. I have the issue of both TS3 and TS4 automatically repairing, but both of the core games (not the packs) immediatly get the error of the internet related issues, but none of the sims 4 packs do, but some of the ts3 ones do. This is super weird. I obviously can't update my game either.

@eemiliak  Have you tried using the EA App?  Origin is having issues with Sims 3, although several affected players have said Sims 4 downloads fine.  The App may uninstall Origin automatically, but you can reinstall it yourself.  You can find a download link for the EA App here:

Last I checked, the App didn't have Origin's Move Game function, but it may have been added recently.

@eemiliak  Yes, you'd keep all your user data, and the EA App should recognize your installed games as well.  The user data is in Documents > Electronic Arts > The Sims 4 (or ... The Sims 3) no matter which app you use.  It's a good idea to back this folder up from time to time regardless, but there's no extra risk in introducing the EA App.

@puzzlezaddict Uh oh.. I downloaded the EA-beta and I can see all of my games except The Sims 4. It says I haven't bought it yet. When I search for it in the shop i get a 500 error message.
  • @eemiliak I found the Sims 4 now. I seem to have to re-download all of my games. It this supposed to happen?

@eemiliak  No, that's not supposed to happen.  But I suppose it could if the underlying reason Origin keeps repairing is that an essential file for Sims 4 (for example, TS4_x64.exe) keeps getting corrupted or deleted.  Without that file being present, the EA App might not see the game as installed at all.

The good news is that if you install to the same location as before, the EA App might see the existing program files and only download what's missing.  But if that doesn't help, I'd still suggest reinstalling the game to a new folder as the next step.

And look, I've asked you about an antivirus twice now and you haven't answered me.  I'm trying to help here, but I can't do that as effectively if you won't give me all the relevant information.  This is exactly the kind of problem that a few different antivirus programs have been causing for two years now.  And if that's the underlying cause here too, you likely won't be able to solve the issue, at least not permanently, without addressing it.  So you'll just be wasting your time and mine.
