Sorry to hear that you are having issues @kimberleyharley.
Is it possible to remove the expansion pack and play the game as you were previously to see how the game runs? It could simply be a case that your system can't run The Sims 4 alongside the expansions.
If you can grab me a DxDiag I can take a look at your system and advise you further: https://help.ea.com/en/help/pc/how-to-gather-dxdiag-information/

@EA_Darko I removed all the expansion packs except from the new one that I purchased when the computer crashed and I even tried the game on its own with no expansions, its still really lagging.

@kimberleyharley According to your dxdiag Windows 10 is not recognizing the cpu. The cpu requires a driver. the video system only has default drivers loaded. You need the driver disc or go to Acer support and download and install all drivers for your model Acer. This game needs the missing information to configure the game for your computer.
- 6 years ago@roberta591 ' do I need to download every driver or is there specific ones im looking for? the reason they probably aren't downloaded is because ive just had my laptop fixed as it wasn't turning on so they've probably all been uninstalled
