My sim stops cooking

If it only were that simple. There's an oven available, just not in that picture (I just did that to make it obvious that nothing is blocking the path, I even added an oven and a fridge to that outdoor test kitchen to double check) but he still refuses to continue. I noticed that he won't do any cakes either. This is so weird and I can't play until I figure this out.. ☹️

@crinrictok this brought some new info! I changed to a different lot, different sims. I made them all cook cakes. They all stopped at some point, went to another kitchen (setup in picture) and took another sim's bowl! And then continued to cook with that. After this, they were able to cook the dishes all the way through. Even Aubergine parmesan once I levelled one of them to cooking skill lvl 3. So weird?!

ahhh finally!!! It is the kitchen itself. I deleted only the whole kitchen room from the house (replacing counters, stove + fridge didn't help) and then my sim was able to cook normally using the same type of counters, stove and fridge. I still have no clue why but this kitchen just broke. I have yet to test if I can upload the house to gallery and place it from there and still have it function or will I have to fix the house manually... It's a house built by Harrie and deleting and then putting all the detail back in manually would be quite a hassle. :D

But thank you @crinrict  for the suggestions (and just general moral support haha), it lead me to at least figure out how to get out of this pit even though the root cause still remains a mystery. :D
