Need help with choosing laptop

Hiii! So, I have the sims 4 on my old (and very unfitting to run the sims 4 - doesn’t meet the requirements) laptop. The game runs but it has a serious lag, issues with animation and all my settings are on low. I’ve been looking into a new laptop that could run the game on high (maybe even ultra) without much lagging. I’d also use the laptop for college assignments, zoom meetings and social media. I live in Slovenia but will probably buy the new laptop from Germany (I have family there and it would be cheaper).

I found a few that I think should be okay but I’d like an opinion on it from someone who knows how the game would perfom on it. Also, I’m not sure if the specs I listed are enough or even the right ones but I really don’t know what I should be looking for anyway.

Lenovo IdeaPad Gaming 3 for 780€

AMD Ryzen 5 4600H

16 GB

SSD: 512 GB

GeForce GTX 1650 4GB

Acer Nitro 5 also for 780€

AMD Ryzen 5 4600H

8 GB

SSD: 512 GB

GeForce GTX 1650 4GB

(however, this one has the operating system Linux and I’d prefer Windows because it’s the one I’ve always had)

Asus Tuf Gaming FX505DT for 800€
AMD Ryzen 5 3550H

8 GB

mSSD: 512 GB

GeForce GTX 1650 4GB

  • @revinsek24  The first one is the best of the three, and it's an excellent price for the hardware.  I don't think you'd do better for under 800€, at least not for a new laptop.  The 16 GB memory, although not strictly necessary, is nice to have; the graphics card should be able to run Sims 4, all current packs included, on ultra settings, with some room to spare, although future packs may be demanding enough that you'd need to dial some of the settings back to high.

The other laptops would be fine too, but for the second, you'd need to buy a Windows 10 key and install it in order to play Sims 4.  The processor in the third is still fine for the game but not as strong as the one in the first two.  So it's an easy choice.

By the way, you listed exactly the right info.
