New Game in Sims 4 Loading Forever?
i recently took out all of my custom content in my game, because i had over 100gb of it and the game would sometimes take literal hours just to get to the title screen. i just couldnt sort it for the longest time. so, i decided to start fresh. i reinstalled things one folder at a time, and got rid of nearly all of my stuff. theres now only 13.7gb of cc in my mods folder. i made sure to update all my game mods and everything before playing, and the game loaded - for the first time in years - beautifully.
but after creating a new household and saving them to the gallery, i tried to play the new household. i am now stuck on the loading screen i have always passively stared at for hours at a time. the map has been loading for hours. when i minimize the game and reopen it, it doesnt go unresponsive (a good sign, because it used to when a mod was the issue). i did take out all my personal save files before starting the new game. is that why im stuck here?
@009i66 It sounds like a cc issue is more likely, or perhaps some other corrupt file in your game folder. As a test, please move the entire Sims 4 folder out of Documents\Electronic Arts and onto your desktop. Launch the game, which will create a new folder. Don't add anything to it yet; just see whether you can start a new save and play for a bit. If you can, you'll know that the issue is something in your old folder.
If you still can't make it to live play even in a clean game folder, please run a dxdiag and attach it to a post.
