New PC, will my specs be good enough for ultra settings?

So I’m getting a new gaming PC in 2 days. It’s not exactly a high end one but it’s apparently pretty good for the price. It cost just under £800.

GeForce RTX 3060 12gb

Intel Core i5-10400F 12 core processor (but it also says 6 processor cores so I’m confused at this)

16gb DDR4 Ram

My question is, will this be enough to run TS4 on ultra settings? Will I finally have the graphics of my dreams? I have TS4 on PS5 and stopped playing due to poor graphics/lighting. I’ve always wanted a PC powerful enough to give me the smooth gameplay I want but also the pristine and beautiful graphics with it.

  • @skittles23o51ox I run an older RTX 2070 Super 8GB with 16GB Ram and I run Sims4 on Ultra all the time while ruining ReShade 5.9.1 for crisper graphics as well. I think yours will be fine.

You have twelve threads over 6 cores. 2 per core.

This is actually overkill for just the Sims 4 but you may have other games that require more and who knows what the requirements for project Rene(Sims5) will be.

  • @jpkarlsen Ahh okay I understand now. So does overkill mean I’ll get those beautiful pristine graphics the sims 4 pc has to offer?? And also have the game run smooth too? Also, I may use the PC for games such as RDR2 and GTAV as well as others. Does that mean my specs are god enough for those types of games too?
  • @Caerfinon I’m not the most tech savvy but isn’t the 2070 better? It’s older yeah but isn’t 70 better than 60? Sorry if this seems like a dumb question

Yes if you compared to a 2060 then a 2070 would be better but you have a 3060.

You will be able to run the game on ultra settings without other lag than what is inherited in the game because of the way it is programmed.

  • @jpkarlsen when I check on pc benchmark it says the 2070 is faster than my 3060. Why would this be if it’s better than the 2070? No matter as I’m really happy that I’m finally going to be able to play the game as it’s made and not a dull, low quality version of it. I’ve watch YouTubers play this for years and always been envious of how their game looks. I can’t wait to see it for myself. Thank you so much for your replies.

@skittles23o51ox Did your computer allow you to play all the packs on ultra setting? I’m looking at getting a new gaming computer too so just wanted a recommendation for a budget one. Thanks!

@Jodie1250  If you post your budget and country, as well as any other details that matter to you, I can offer some suggestions.  Or if you prefer, list your budget and I'll describe the hardware to look for, so you can do your own shopping.
