no mods showing up in game, no load game button at the main menu

hi! so today i was playing sims and everything was fine. i use cc and mods in my game because i only have base game so i wanted to make the game more fun. i closed my game and went to look for more cc and i put them in my mods folder once i downloaded them as i always do and i never had problems with it before this. then i open sims and im on the main menu. my "load game" button and "new game" button was not there. it was just the big play button (>). i exited the game and  i tried to move my mods folder to my desktop and repair my game in origin but nothing worked. someone suggested to move my "saves" folder out to my desktop, start the game and press the big play button so it can make a new saves folder automatically. when i pressed it, it led me to the sims customization and then i see that literally none of my mods or cc were there but they were still in my mods folder. can anyone please help?

  • @an1ita  Your screenshot shows the issue, in the upper left corner: the file path includes OneDrive, meaning that your mods and cc are in OneDrive's version of Documents rather than the version on your hard drive.  You'll need to copy or move the entire Sims 4 folder you've opened for your screenshot back to your hard drive.

To make sure you're in the local version of Documents, open a File Explorer window and choose This PC > C > Users > your username > Documents.  This is the location Sims 4 will read by default, and therefore also the location where your saves, mods, etc. need to be.

  • @an1ita  Please post the file path to the Mods folder where you can still see your mods.  The file path is listed in the address bar in a File Explorer window, above the list of files and folders.

heyy, ty for helping but what file path should i post to my mods folder? sorry i'm not so good with folders and all that :,)

  • @an1ita  Just take a screenshot of the open Mods folder with all your missing mods listed.  Include the part right above the list of files and folders in the screenshot.

oh thank you, ill try that. i figured it might be that because i disconnected OneDrive from my documents folder because it was getting really annoying, it always would tell me that my storage is full and OneDrive just backs up your files which i did not need so i stopped it from backing my documents up. but thank you again🙂

hey I'm really sorry to bother again but when i try to move my electronic arts folder to my this pc documents folder it keeps on saying that it cant be completed because the folder is in use when my sims 4 isn't open or anything.

  • @an1ita  You're not bothering me at all.  The "sync pending" suggests that OneDrive is waiting to sync that folder, and that's why you can't move it.  You can pause the syncing:

    https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/office/how-to-pause-and-resume-sync-in-onedrive-2152bfa4-a2a5-4d3a-ace8-92912fb4421e

Or just copy the folder elsewhere, as in, to some location OneDrive doesn't touch, then get rid of OneDrive entirely and put the folder where you want it.  Copying and pasting shouldn't be affected as long as the destination isn't a folder that OneDrive would try to sync.
