i snipped your post to what i needed in regards to mods  any mod that you download can break* for example say i download a gardening mod then there is a patch/update for the game if i do not move my mods out of the game folder chances are the mod/s can get get broken which might cause an issue for me in game say suddenly my Sim can't cook ...so what do i do if that happens ? This...move the mods folder to the desktop for now launch origin and log in right click the game icon-repair game then log out of origin log back in launch the game see if all is well exit out of the game and place one mod back launch play check all is well rinse repeat if a mod is not working remove it and see if needs an update
