Did you try uninstalling Origin and then reinstalling the newest version from the Origin website?
For the grayed out play button you can try these:
The Play button in Origin is gray
Make sure your game is updated to the newest version (see above). If that is the case and the play button is still gray, try the following things (or any combination of it)
- Restart Origin
- Manually uninstall Origin, run ccleaner, then reinstall
- Right click on the Game in Origin and hit Repair Game
- Log out and back in
- Delete Origin cache files

Could you try disabling your firewall, antivirus and antimalware software, just to test if that might be the problem.
If it is, Origin and The Sims 4 need to be added to the exception list.

I tried all of this. It doesn't seem to be the problem. The picture attached shows another popup that has also begun appearing after I reinstalled Origin again. I can't think of what the problem could be. I've tried everything I've seen, and I don't know what to do anymore 😠

How much free space is left on your hard drive after the upgrade to Win 10? The upgrader will keep data so you could revert and if you are running low on disc space this could cause a problem.
