"Origin is currently not running" popup

When I try to open The Sims 4, I get a popup that says "Origin is currently not running." (I attached an image of the popup)   I also tried opening Origin, then opening Sims, but the "Play" button is...

My computer is a pc. Yes, origin works fine. I can also see the game icons like normal.

Could you check for testing purposes if the 32 bit version works ?

  1. Right click on the game in Origin and choose game properies
  2. Then change to 32 bit
