pixel block upon opening the game

Every time i open the Sims 4 for the first time after closing my laptop there is a colorful pixel screen/block on the home screen. If i try to open my game it stays on but if i restart my game it always disapears. It also appears on the bottom if i try to press the windows key and open a new tab. The part that goes over my game turns to pixels and won't disapear before i restart my game. Same happens with the capslock icon. It started after the last update. I have also tried to repair my game and nothing helps.

  • @Loijazz  Your dxdiag lists a number of crashes of Acer software that probably doesn't need to be running.  That also might be the source of the pixel block, as you call it—perhaps it's supposed to be a related pop-up but isn't loading correctly.  So please open the Task Manager, click the Startup tab, and disable any Acer entries, for example the registration app.  This doesn't mean they wouldn't work if you wanted to use them, only that they won't automatically start with Windows.

As a side note, if you have anything else starting with Windows that you don't need, disable that too, which will free up more system resources.  As an example, Windows set Edge to start automatically after an update a few months ago, without asking.  If you disable this, Edge will only open when you actually try to open it.

I would also suggest updating your laptop's graphics driver, which is from 2021.  You can find the newest driver here:

    https://www.amd.com/en/support/downloads/drivers.html/processors/ryzen/ryzen-3000-series/amd-ryzen-5-3500u.html

Run the installer as an admin: right-click the download and select "Run as administrator."  Restart your computer after installing and before trying to play.
