plants disappearing when planted

In my sims 4 game  when I bring a plantable harvestable or seed  that I have brought from another lot . my sim plants it and then it disappars. then my sim re plants it  over and over again. each time it disapears.  if i tell the sim to stop planting. they stop but the item i was trying to plant is gone.  I was planting my harvetables  just fine on my  small home lot.  when i  moved my sim to a bigger home lot. everything i tried to plant.  I had brought from the old home lot would dissappear.  is there a way to fix this myself?   I play on PC.
