Poor, distorted audio quality

Product: The Sims 4
Platform:PC
Which language are you playing the game in? English
How often does the bug occur? Every time (100%)
What is your current game version number? 1.69.59.1020
What expansions, game packs, and stuff packs do you have installed? All, except Snowy Escape and Star Wars.
Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? I'm not sure. It occurs randomly, without any input from me.
What happens when the bug occurs? Whenever I start up my Sims 4 game, it's only a few minutes of gameplay before the audio quality drops horribly. The sound quality becomes tinny and distorted - even with the sound settings at the highest quality in the options it sounds awful, like it's playing from a tiny microwave speaker. And this goes for all sounds, including music, voices, UI sound effects, everything. There are no other issues with the game at all that I can tell. I've tired clearing my cache, repairing the game file, restarting my system, deleting the config and options files, updating my system's drivers, and nothing has worked. If I close the game and reopen it, it will be temporarily fixed before the quality drops again.
What do you expect to see? The sound quality should be steady and normal throughout the gameplay.
Have you installed any customization with the game, e.g. Custom Content or Mods? Not now. I've removed them.
Did this issue appear after a specific patch or change you made to your system? Yes
Please describe the patch or change you made. I got a new laptop, and downloaded the Sims 4 on it, and transferred over my saves and CC. This has been happening ever since then, even with no old saves in the game, or CC. I have a Dell G3 15, with Intel Core i5 10300H CPU @ 2.50 Ghz, 8 GB of RAM, and Nvidia Geforce GTX 1650 Ti graphics card.

Is anyone else having this issue? I can't figure out if it's something to do with my laptop alone, or if it's a widespread bug that I'm just unable to find online.

  • This is my last hope on trying to figure out what on earth is wrong with my game ☹️

so ever since the last two updates, my sound is all glitchy. It sounds slow and disoriented. It sounds like its stuck and then it goes but it isn't the normal Sims sound. It's just glitchy sounds of stop and go. I've done the repair through origin, and that still didn't fix it. I don't know what on earth is causing this issue. I can't find anything that relates to what I'm dealing with online so I'm really hoping this form can help me out.

I do use Custom Content and one mod. But none of them have ever given me issues before.

I run my game on Windows 10. I have my game through Origin.

    Thanks guys.

  • Bumping this. I still can't seem to find any solutions, and now it seems to be doing it every time to go into the game, even without cc and saves. I included my DxDiag file if that helps.
