Poor graphics even on high settings? Please help

I recently just bought a new pc from BestBuy because the previous one I had had a defected card yet it had lower ram and practically equal parts to the newer PC i have now that, as they said, would work muchhh better than my previous with some parts being much newer. Although, with either this new pc or my Sims 4 game on its own, im having poor graphics even on high settings. I didnt have this problem on my previous or even on my 6yr old laptop, yet I can even see sims that are not in my household in their apartments dancing and can overall see the layout of there apartment which I haven't had noticed ever happening before. My adult sim has lines in her leg and just overall looks poor quality especially bad when zooming away. Im so confused and dont know whether its my pc or the game itself as I did just update with the new infant update and installed Growing Together. Please help ☹️

  • ^^^^^ If needed I had noticed other "things" in my game that are also poor quality even on high settings so if more screenshots are needed let me know!

  • @kvybabbii  It looks like you're seeing this issue in apartments:

If you think that matches, feel free to click Me Too and post in that thread.

For the other graphics, do you mean that your sim's legs are jagged, or something else?  Is this the only symptom of bad graphics, and if not, what are some other examples?

Please post a screenshot of your in-game graphics settings.  You can put the game in windowed mode and then use Windows key-shift-S to capture the relevant portion of the screen.  Please also run a dxdiag and attach it to a post.

@puzzlezaddict I am def having the same problem in that thread and will post in there too. But as far as the other graphics, yes my sims do look a little jagged even the ones not in my household even on very high settings look just not the same and kind of grainy or pixelated and just the overall environment itself as well. And I also noticed some bugs as well as seeing people in there apartments and also people standing but missing the food stall/stand. Ill post more screenshots now and my dxdiag. I should not I am playing with a PC with Windows unactivated but plan to take care of that later today, would that have any problems with the graphics?

Sorry I had fell asleep ;(

@kvybabbii  Try setting Edge Smoothing to High in the graphics optiions.

If that doesn't help, try playing with the anti-aliasing settings in the control software for your AMD graphics driver.  I don't know exactly which settings work for Sims 4 because I've only tested on and read reports from Nvidia users, but this guide should give you an idea of where to start:

    https://www.amd.com/en/support/kb/faq/dh-012

Make sure that you're setting the Anti-aliasing Mode to "Override application settings" so that Sims 4's settings aren't interfering.  And please test with Edge Smoothing on and off in the game settings, and quit to desktop after changing the setting and before testing it out—changing any setting in-game may not give you the full effect.  If you use a lot of custom content and loading times are a problem, you can remove your Mods folder temporarily and test on a new save.

The anti-aliasing settings should address the jagged lines and perhaps some other edges that don't look right to you.  Once you have that sorted out, figure out whether there are any other graphics issues you're not happy with and that aren't simply part of Sims 4.  One other setting you might try changing is post-processing: my game looks a lot more crisp and clear when I turn it off, and performance is a bit better too.\

And please don't apologize about having fallen asleep.  We all need to sleep sometime, and I don't mind waiting a bit for a response.
