The bug just suddenly disappeared when I went on the Sims a few minutes ago. When I saved and quit yesterday, the toddler alien was in his disguise. Maybe when I got on the game thought he was a normal toddler and the bug fixed himself??? When I took the disguise off, he was still able to interact with his mother and could be picked up. Try putting the toddler into his disguise, quit, and then log back on. I don't know if it will work, but it's worth a shot!
