Problems after sims death

Hey there,

I thought  I had closed my game yesturday but when I went back on my computer today I have found that the Sims 4 was still running and my sims I was playing have died. So I now have a grave stone and an Urn, anybody know how to get rid of them? Besides putting them in the inventory?

The Urn is off the property so I haven't been able to move it or anything. I would like to be able to get rid of it if it's possible.

Lastly many of the decorations from the house and the plants have turned into little ash piles, which I have since cleaned up and they are no longer around. However, the YARD has a dirty look to it since this has all happened in some places around the property anybody know what has happened? Or can give me some ideas on how to get rid of it?

I added a picture showing what I mean by the ground looking dirty/burnt, hopefully it's added

Thanks 🙂

  • Hi @Eloralye,

did you save your game ? Why not just exit the game without and skip that part that happened ? Was there maybe a fire on your lot ?

There's really not much you can do if the stuff is outside the lot. Maybe it clears up in a few days on it's own.

Obviously a fire occurred while there were either no alarms or not enough skilled sims to protect each other from the flames they were closest to - they extinguish flames autonomously however if there are multiple flames near to them, they'll be burned by the flames which aren't being extinguished. You can save them if you're paying attention but you only have a minute or so before they die so you have to ensure that rugs and furniture aren't near fireplaces, that you upgrade all cooking and heating objects for fire resistance, and that at least one alarm is within each room where ignition is possible.

Why not roll back to your previous save instead of allowing them to die?

    • Open "My Documents\Electronic Arts\The Sims 4\Saves"
    • Delete all files beginning with Slot_00000001
    • Find the slot file with the highest number and the current date
    • If the current slot is Slot_00000008 then rename Slot Slot_00000008.save to Slot_00000008.bak (or delete if you don't care to recover anything)
    • Rename Slot_00000008.ver0 to Slot_00000008.save then re-launch your game.
    • Add fire protection and alternate cooking options for active household - if cooking items break they might starve also
