Could you please provide the following information
- Are you using mods/cc in your game ? Please remove them and test without them if you do.
- Are you using oneDrive ?

Could you check which folder the game uses: https://sims4.crinrict.com/eng/2018/07/how-to-find-your-user-folder/ and see if that still has the saves

I checked which folder the game uses, and there's only one folder with everything the Sims need. There isnt any duplicate nor anything in deleted files. though it does say it's not backed up. I do have mods, but it's simple ones (creating a sim) and extra addons. When I discovered I had lost all my progress, I also found that my mods had been deleted from Sims. I did make sure I had my mods saved somewhere for the latest update as recommended, and this is way after the update when I turned on script mods allowed to activate them again. I am using oneDrive as well. I checked saves, but it doesn't have any of my old content in it (Sims file and recover save in game). I think it's a lost cause and I'll just have to do everything from scratch again.

So both the saves folder on oneDrive and locally are empty and so are both mods folders ?

Yes, everything that I originally had isn't there.
