Hi @areyoutherehov,
This error message has cropped up in The Sims 4 in the past. It's good that you've already tried preparing the game, making sure the game is up-to-date and ensuring it's not the firewall. There are some other things to run through and check for:
- Check for updates with the video card driver.
- Check for updates with the network controller driver.
- Reinstall Sims 4
- Reinstall EA App. Here's how: https://help.ea.com/za/help/ea/ea-app/uninstall-ea-app/
- Try running EA App as Administrator - Close the EA app and right-click the EA app icon on your desktop (or in the EA app directory if not on your desktop) and select Run As Administrator.
- Try lowering the User Access Control settings after performing those troubleshooting steps. Learn how to adjust the protection level in your User Access Control settings with Microsoft Support.
- Try moving the file location
- Close the EA app completely.
- Go to C:\Program Files\EA Games and move the folder for the game to a different place.
- Go to C:\Program Files\Electronic Arts\EA Desktop\EA Desktop.
- Right-click on EADesktop.exe.
- Choose Run as Administrator.
- Start the download.
- Pause it after 30 seconds.
- In C:\Program Files\EA Games, copy the content of the old folder for the game into the new folder for the game.
- Resume the download.
- Perform a clean boot.
Could you give those steps a try, please? Do let us know how you get on with those.
