Re: FPS are not right

@generuler4  When you say the colors changed at higher than 120 Hz, do you mean in-game, or overall on your monitor?  Is the listed color depth still 32-bit for the 165 Hz refresh rate, and are you also using the native resolution of your monitor?

For Sims 4, try deleting options.ini after you've set your monitor to run at 165 Hz, or 120, or whatever you want that's higher than 60.  The game will spawn a new copy of that file, and it should pick up the new refresh rate.  Once you've done that, try using fullscreen mode and enabling vertical sync, to see whether it helps with the flickering.  If that doesn't, let me know whether windowed fullscreen or windowed mode works any better.

If none of this makes a difference, please run a dxdiag and attach it to a post.

Please also let me know what framerates you're seeing in-game with v-sync both on and off.

The colors in-game changes but nothing else. I did everything above and the flickering was still going on with higher frames per second in full screen. But once I moved to window full screens the flickering stop and now I’m getting 165 fps. I also have another question I’m using an HDMI instead of a display port so could that be causing an issue.

@generuler4  Using HDMI can definitely cause issues, depending on what generation HDMI your monitor and computer are using, and what kind of cable you have.  Another potential issue is plugging the monitor into the motherboard rather than the graphics card itself.

If you're satisfied with how the game looks and runs in windowed fullscreen, I wouldn't worry about it.  Otherwise, please run a dxdiag and attach it to a post.

@puzzlezaddict I’m satisfied, I misunderstand my monitor settings and it can overlook at 165, but I’m happy with the 144 hz.
