Re: Game will not start

@DarkAngelBeckon It could be something else entirely. The only option to rule out antivirus entirely is to temp turn it off completely but I don't like to suggest that. You could try disconnecting from the net and trying in offline mode though with antivirus disabled.

Do you have any errors in your DxDiag ?

  • I tried offline mode, I tried turning off the antivirus, firewall, the whole thing.  Same ordeal.  Push play.  Sits there for 30 seconds and then doesn't start and shows me the EA app again with the play button needing to be pushed again.  Already tried that..

@DarkAngelBeckon Going to split your posts to their own thread.

Could you post your DxDiag ? It seems to me there's another problem going on for you.

@DarkAngelBeckon Are you running an Yahoo app in the background ? If so, have you tried turning that off while you play ? It doesn't really have any Sims error in your DxDiag but lots of error with some yahoo program.
  • Only while I  have it open waiting for you to reply.  It doesn't like my color shader to change it to a different color for dark mode, while I am trying to read something, since I have chronic migraines. Otherwise, if I am not reading something, it is turned off

  • Just tried that.  The game still is doing the same thing.  Push start.....30 seconds......then goes back to EA app without the game starting.  Nothing was interferring.

@DarkAngelBeckon  Please try playing in a new user account on your PC.  Make it an admin account, and a local one, as in, don't sign into Microsoft; don't sign into any other services you normally use either.  The account name should only contain letters and/or numbers, no special characters or accents.  You won't need to reinstall Origin or Sims 4, but you also won't have access to any content from your other account.

If playing in the new account doesn't work, restart your computer and try again, except this time, try playing while your computer is completely offline, as in, disable wifi or disconnect the ethernet cable.  I know you've tried being offline before, but I'm interested to know whether it works in the new account.

@DarkAngelBeckon  Since it's been two weeks and there was a new patch released a couple of days ago, I'd like to see a new dxdiag on this computer.  Please also check your antivirus again: some programs react badly to game updates.  So it's possible it's interfering now, even if it was not before.

  • I have done the update.  I have put my mods back in the game but took my CC (clothes, hairs, shoes, makeup, etc) out......and the game finally started.  I think it  is one piece of CC that is causing the problems.  I am currently going through each and every piece of CC to figure out which one is causing the issue.  The previous patch broke some sort of CC, or the one when all this started.....so I am working with some of the CC creators to help identify which single piece is causing the issue.  If you have any reports on any sort of CC that was broken from the updates, such as the windows and doors were when Batuu went live, that would help greatly.  Thanks.
