@zarastella In case you haven't already, you can use the Task Manager to force-close the game. Crtl-alt-delete should bring it up. If you can't see the TM, hit crtl-alt-delete again and sign out, which will close all running applications.
Please move the entire Sims 4 folder out of Documents\Electronic Arts and onto your desktop. When you launch the game, if it launches, a clean folder will spawn with no content. Don't add anything to it yet; just let me know whether you can get far enough to start a new save.
If that doesn't help, please run a dxdiag and attach it to a post.
