Re: How can you have EA extensions on steam or vice versa

@a84mlmsjxzxp  It's simple:

  • Uninstall Sims 4 through the EA App.
  • Install the Sims 4 base game through Steam, and also install every pack in your Steam library.
  • Open the EA App, click Sims 4, select Manage > Manage add-ons, and download the packs you own through EA.

This should not delete your saves or any other user data.  But if you want to be extra careful, you can make a backup copy of your saves, inside Documents > Electronic Arts > The Sims 4 > saves.  Or you can make a backup of this entire Sims 4 folder.

If you would prefer help in German, just ask.  This site has a German-language forum, and I can move your posts there, or you can start a new thread there and link this one so that the helpers see the information you've provided already.

    @puzzlezaddict Thank you for your efforts. But it didn't work again. I didn't have a second game, but the expansions were just the ones I bought on Steam.

    @a84mlmsjxzxp  What happens when you try to install the packs you own through the EA App?  If you get an error, please post a screenshot.  it's fine if the screenshot is in German.

    If the packs install through the EA App, but they don't appear in-game, please run searches for two or three of your missing packs.  Open a File Explorer window, click This PC in the left panel, and enter the folder name for one of the missing packs in the search field in the upper-right corner.  This is the full list of packs:

    https://sims4.crinrict.com/eng/extras-2/available-packs-dlc/

    For example, if you're looking for Seasons, you'd search for EP05 .  Wait for the search to finish, then make sure the full file path is showing under each result.  If it's not, expand the window sideways as necessary.  Take a screenshot using Windows key-shift-S and attach it to a reply here.  Then repeat for one or two more packs.

    When I did this I no longer had my expansions that I bought on Ea. I then deleted it and did it again as you said and yet sims 4 wouldn't uninstall on ea. I got it a little later (unfortunately I wasn't at home, which is why the answer took so long) Then I did something and it worked. But now I no longer have my score. I also tried to restore it but unfortunately no chance. (the strange thing is when I tried it before and it didn't work, I had my save) But I don't think it's that bad since I have everything in my packs now. My only problem is that I can't find the mods folder and have no idea where it might be. Does anyone know where he is? Can I even install mods via Steam?

    Ps I am very grateful to you

    Thank you

    @a84mlmsjxzxp  My last suggestion wasn't supposed to be a fix, it was about gathering information so I could figure out why your EA App-owned packs weren't loading in-game.  If you need more help with that, please post the screenshots I asked for.  If it's fixed, never mind.

    You may be looking in the wrong place for your Mods folder.  Here's how to find the correct location:

    If you still can't find your saves, please see the first post of this thread:
