@SuperiorDAVID Please, try the solution for the "Game already running" you can find here.

@lbstylist You say you backed up all your saved games and mods to your desktop. Open Documents/Electronic Arts/The Sims 4 folder and copy/paste there your saves and Mods folder from your desktop. Overwrite it if your computer asks. Then open the game again. Are you still missing your saved games?
